Mufti.mu is an initiative of Mufti Houzeifa Mamoojee. The primary aim is to tend to fatwa queries from the Mauritian Muslims, be it in English, French or Creole.

Education
Mufti Houzeifa Mamoojee has studied at the prestigious Islamic seminary Madrasah Arabia Islamia - Darul Uloom Azaadville, South Africa. An initial six years were spent completing the Aalimiyyah Course, which covers an array of Islamic sciences including Tajweed & Qira'at, Quranic studies & Tafsir, Hadith & its nomenclature (Mustalah), Creed (Aqidah) & rational theology (Kalam), Islamic Law (Fiqh) & legal theology (Usul al-Fiqh), Arabic literature (Adab), Morphology (Sarf), Grammar (Nahw), Prophetic Biography (Sirah) and Islamic History, etc... An additional two years were then spent in the Iftaa Course, specialising in Islamic Jurisprudence and the art of issuing Fatwas.
Service of Deen
Mufti Houzeifa Mamoojee has held office as Imam at Ad Dawa Al Islamiah Masjid, Mare Gravier, Beau Bassin from 2016 to 2022, leading prayers, administrating the Madrassah, delivering Jummah & Eid Khutbas, holding spiritual talks and promoting the youth wing. Then, a similar role was held at Rose Hill Soonnee Mosque from 2023 to end of 2024. Other activities include motivational talks across the island, special workshops and online classes, amongst others. Answering queries and issuing Fatwas has been a continuous task, be it formally or informally, verbally or in written, eventually leading to the need for this website.
