Mufti.mu is an initiative of Mufti Houzeifa Mamoojee. The primary aim is to tend to fatwa queries from the Mauritian Muslims, be it in English, French or Creole.

Policy Agreement

  • Questions can be in English, French or Mauritian Creole.

  • It generally takes 3-7 days for any query to be answered.

  • If the query has been sent to any other Darul Iftaa / Mufti, asking again can only lead to one following their Nafs in choosing which Fatwa to abide to. It is best to stick to one Mufti.

  • Answers will be in accordance to the Creed of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah, in conformity to the Hanafi Fiqh and in line with the legacy of the Ulama of Deoband.

  • Please ensure that the correct information are given. Answers will be a reflection of the query presented and should any detail be missing, the Darul Iftaa will not be liable for any subsequent dispute between parties.

  • The Darul Iftaa strives to maintain the confidentiality of question and questioner at all times.
